Vancouver Airport Authority will welcome the world in 2010 when Vancouver hosts the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

Due to overwhelming demand and congestion at portal and destination airports (YVR, YYC, YLW, YYJ, YXX and ZBB) the 2010 Airport Reservation Office will no longer be accepting or processing change requests for arrival or departure times. Change requests received prior to this notice will be processed in the order received. In addition, be advised that capacity to process change requests for aircraft up-gauging is extremely limited.
New reservation requests will continue to be processed in the order that they are received. |
During the 2010 Winter Games period - January 29 to March 24, 2010, record levels of aviation activity are expected at YVR. From January 29 to March 24, 2010, aircraft flying into Vancouver International Airport (YVR), Boundary Bay Airport (ZBB) or Abbotsford International Airport (YXX) will be required to have a reservation. Flights without reservations will not be allowed to land or take off from YVR, ZBB or YXX.
Safe and efficient operations are our primary goals at YVR. The reservation system will ensure that our goals are achieved and enable the mitigation of potential delays.
There are two designated airspace control areas over the 2010 Winter Games venues. They are the Vancouver 2010 Control Zone and the Vancouver 2010 Control Area.
